A Sunday Thought on Standing up for the Faith

This got a lot of buzz over a week ago. An NFL player stood up for his Catholic faith. Of course, all the buzz came from Catholic sources, not the MSM (main stream media). I saw nothing reported there.

But now that the initial buzz has died down, I want to tip my hat to this gentleman. He's a member of the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens. He refused to accompany the team to be congratulated at the White House. If you didn't see this story originally, or even if you did, read his thoughtful remarks carefully. This man lives his faith. He's an example for all of us to follow in our own work and our own lives.
Retired Baltimore Ravens center Matt Birk, who won a Super Bowl with the team last year, skipped the team’s visit to the White House due to President Obama’s support for Planned Parenthood.
