Starting Off the Week: Special Prayer to Live Without Compromise

Last week we celebrated the feast of the Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael. Steeped in our modernist secular culture - an essentially vulgar, phony world that rejects God and aggressively rejects our Catholic Faith - we need to grasp and cling to anything that brings us back to reality. Take a moment to prepare for this week's work, ready for battle with this vulgar, phony world that the secularists constantly push on us and our children. Remember that in every thought, word and action this week, you take a stand as a soldier in Christ's army against secular pop culture. Fight vigorously for Christ; we must never compromise.

Pope John Paul II, of happy memory, guides us in our prayer for strength to fight this battle:

"May prayer strengthen us for the spiritual battle of which we are told in the Letter to the Ephesians: 'Draw strength from the Lord and from His mighty power' (Ephesians 6:10). It is this same battle to which The Book of Revelation [Apocalypse] refers, recalling before our eyes the image of Saint Michael the Archangel (cf. Revelation 12:7). Pope Leo XIII certainly had a very vivid vision of this scene when, at the end of the last century, he introduced a special prayer to Saint Michael throughout the Church. Even if this prayer is no longer recited at the end of every Mass, I ask everyone to remember it and to recite it to obtain help in the battle against forces of darkness and against the spirit of this world."

And so we call especially on St Michael this week to help us in battle:

A Prayer to Saint Michael
Saint Michael, Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness
and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Keep your strength up men. Pray this prayer every day. Live without compromise.
