Christ alone is our example of a Catholic man at work.

God created man in His image. Man, however, chose sin over God. We therefore covered that Godly image in sin. Christ became a man to restore that image. He is the example we look to - literally look at - to find what God intended when He created man.

By seeing Christ and living and working as He did, we allow others to see the image of God in this world. People see God in us...or at least they should.

And why shouldn't they see God in us, in us Catholic men at work?

We Catholic men live and work in the world. And yes, our daily lives sadly find us in sin, from time to time. That's why we strive to imitate Christ. Simply because He is as we should be. He Himself worked while He lived as a man in the world. And so we work as He worked, for the glory of His Father, and Our Father.

That's why our daily work must be filled with Christ.

Reading the Gospels everyday, even if only for a few minutes, gives us a chance to learn, over time, to see Christ as He really lived. In the Gospels, we can look at Him alive, showing us how to live our lives.

Don't just think of Him "preaching" at us. He had lived and worked for years in Nazareth, supporting his family, just as we do. He preached to leave a clear record of His message to us - a message we could return to confidently every day when we read the Gospels. He knew we needed a clear, clean example of how to live.

When you read the Gospels, think about Christ in this world and the example He set for us. Think about how, today, you can work as He did - perfectly. Then go about your task at hand and do it perfectly.

Think and do - day after day - and with each day, your work will be done more and more perfectly. You will give more and more glory to God in your work.
