Holy Week at Work
Lent is just about over...and what have you done?
Not to worry. It's not about you. It's about Jesus.
So if you just realized that the six weeks are over, and Easter's almost here, you've still got Holy Week. Of course, that's almost half over too. But look, it's only Tuesday.
So right now, keep it simple. You know: KISS (Keep it simple, stupid). It's one of those business acronyms that the consultants love to through in our faces all the time. Let's use it now, for Him.
Just think about Him now, as He spent His last days in Jerusalem. He's teaching in and around the city. He knows what's coming, but He keeps at His work. You wouldn't know that He's about to suffer and die.
And now your work beckons. And so you go about your business too. But just as he must have had a thought or two about His coming Passion, so let's have a thought or two about Him all those years ago in Jerusalem. And let's remember that the Mass is a reenactment of that Passion and death. So maybe you can get to Mass today and think about Him in that special way.
Whatever it takes, take those moments right now to think of Him. Forget about how "successful" of not your Lent has been. It's about Him, not us.
