Failing supernaturally

We're back on the "living supernaturally" theme. We've talked about not taking credit for our successes. Give the credit to God. So what does happen when we fail at something? Do we take the blame for failure?

We're not talking about looking at what we could have or should have done better when things didn't turn out as we planned. You certainly want to take responsibility for your actions. But "blaming yourself" is something else. Don't get down on yourself.

Instead of blaming yourself, ask yourself why God has brought this failure upon you. That's right. Why did he allow you to fail? What does He want you to learn?

Sometimes, when we simply fail at a specific job or task, He knows we could have done the job better. (You probably know too!) He's just encouraging us to be more careful or attentive to our work; maybe to plan a little better.

Other times, when things aren't going well at our job, or we experience a whole string of failures, think: Is He nudging me into a different direction from the one I've chosen? What does He really want me to do?

There's no easy or "quick and dirty" way to deal with failure. Little failures annoy; big ones really hurt.

None of that will go away when you stop blaming yourself, and see the hand of God in your failure. Sorry, living supernaturally won't make life a breezy walk in the park. But the fact is, God should be in everything we do.
