The world will only get better when each of us commits to personal sanctification, as well as sanctifying all we touch. For most of us, work occupies a good chunk of each day. So the sanctification of our work should be important to us.
With the New Year now arrived, focus on each day in its turn. Whatever struggle of trial this day, January 2nd, presents, focus on that and ask what benefit you can derive from it. Don't think ahead and imagine trials and difficulties that may or may not materialize.
So what benefit can you get from facing today's trial? Is it something simple like getting back into the swing of work after taking some time off for Christmas? Think of how you can strengthen your will power by getting all your work done well and on time today, in spite of how you may feel. Offer the difficulties you experience to God, in reparation for your sins and the sins of others.
