Who's on your team?

If you're a serious Catholic, you want to do God's will. You pray everyday to know His will. You ask for the grace to do His will.

Doing God's will makes you a kind of helper. It's a good feeling to think of being God's helper - doing your little bit in the great plan He's got for our world.

But don't forget that God can be your helper too. Just read Psalm 145, verse 5: "Blessed is he who hath the God of Jacob for his helper, whose hope is in the Lord his God: who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all things that are in them."

Now think about this. The One who created the world, all of us, literally everything, can be your helper. Incredible, isn't it?

If you're not sure about the things God can help us with, continue reading the Psalm. It talks about just a few of the things God helps us all with everyday: "Who keepeth truth for ever: who executeth judgment for them that suffer wrong; who giveth food to the hungry. The Lord looseth them that are fettered; the Lord enlighteneth the blind. the Lord lifteth up them that are cast down: the Lord loveth the just. The Lord keepeth strangers, he will support the fatherless and the widow..."

And that's just for starters, without you even asking. Imagine what he can do, specifically for you, if you ask Him. Ask God to be your helper today.
