The Twelfth Day of Christmas
Most of us are starting our first work day of 2009 today. Friday was a day off. But it's still Christmas - the Twelfth Day of Christmas.
Yes, the world doesn't wait around for Christmas. The big build up ends on December 25th. From that point, it's up to us Catholics to keep Christmas as it should be kept. The joy and peace of Christ's birth should permeate our lives most intensely during these Twelve Days of Christmas.
Of course, you've got obligations to meet today. But do your best to keep the Christmas spirit in some special way today. Keep your heart open to the tender innocence of the Christ Chile lying in the manger this one more day. Don't slip into the secular work world and close the door on Christmas just yet.
